Sustainability and the Environment
Component Sourcing
I try to purchase all my guitar parts locally where possible to save road miles. It is not always possible to buy the required quality within the UK but where I can I do.
Timber
For the cores I source all timber locally within the UK and from recognised tonewood suppliers who like me support the aims of the FSC accreditation scheme.
Necks
I have a variety of sources for the necks. In this very global economy, I do buy in necks from abroad to ensure a competitive price for my instruments. I am always looking for quality and need to know that the timber has come from a sustainable - non tropical source. Custom necks are made in highest quality flame maple which is supplied by reputable tonewood suppliers in southern England.
Pickups and Hardware
Cyclotron guitars are fitted with Bare Knuckle Pickups as standard. Authentic in every detail, and worth every penny, their hand built quality and sound is superb. The clever guys at Bare Knuckle produce their fantastic bits of kit down in Cornwall (The far South West of the UK). British company Rotosound produce some of the finest strings around today for both Bass and Guitar, all Cyclotrons are fitted with Rotosound strings as standard.
Waste
I keep waste to a minimum by careful design and cutting of materials. I distribute off cuts of plastics and timber, to artists and designers and free of charge to local schools.
